| About Han Chiang College |
| |
| Han Chiang College, a non-profit institution of higher learning situated in the northern region
of Peninsular Malaysia, provides quality tertiary education for the young generation to fulfill the manpower needs. |
| |
| Han Chiang High School started a journalism programme in 1978 to provide affordable tertiary
education for students who were unable to pursue higher education locally or overseas. This
programme successfully produced a good number of trained journalists for the news media
industry and established a reputation as a key player in the education industry since then. |
| |
 |
| |
| Due to the growing demand for more professionals and skilled personnel in Malaysia, the Journalism
programme was incorporated into the School of Mass Communication with the establishment of Han
Chiang College on 13 July 1999 by the Ministry of Education, Malaysia. From Journalism, the College
has expanded its horizons and made its foray into other disciplines, offering two-and-a-half-year
Diploma programmes in Mass Communication (majoring in Broadcasting, Journalism and Public
Relations & Advertising), Boradcast Journalism, Business Management (majoring in Marketing and
Human Resource Management), Information Technology, Network Technology, Chinese Studies,
Multimedia Communication Design, Logistic Management, Accounting and Electronic Engineering.
Besides, with the objective of promoting life-long and self-enhancement, Han Chiang College set up a
Continuing Education Centre in 2004 to introduce educational and training programmes to students as
well as working adults from various sectors. These programmes are in line with the need for quality
human resources in national development. |
| |
| The establishment of Han Chiang College marks a milestone in the history of Chinese education in
Malaysia. It has become the first and only education provider that offers education at primary,
secondary and tertiary levels. |
